Such problems include unwanted breast milk, missed/stopped periods, difficulty becoming pregnant, decreased sperm production, and decreased sexual ability. Because of possible serious side effects (e.g., high blood pressure, seizure, heart attack, stroke), bromocriptine is not recommended for stopping unwanted breast milk after pregnancy, miscarriage, or abortion. This medication is also used alone or with other treatments to lower high growth hormone levels (acromegaly). Bromocriptine is also used to treat prolactin-secreting tumors. It may be used to reduce the tumor size before surgery or to control symptoms until other treatments start working.Bromocriptine is an ergot medication that works by helping to restore the balance of a certain natural substance (dopamine) in the brain. (NB. Levothyroxine is also available without a brand name, ie as the generic medicine.) Levothyroxine is the same as the hormone thyroxine, which is produced naturally by the thyroid gland. The thyroid gland produces and releases two thyroid hormones: thyroxine (T4) and tri-iodothyronine (T3). Tri-iodothyronine is the more active thyroid hormone, and thyroxine is converted into T3 in various parts of the body. These hormones are responsible for maintaining a normal rate of metabolism in the body. When the thyroid gland is unable to produce normal amounts of thyroxine, the level of both thyroid hormones in the blood decreases (hypothyroidism). This results in a reduced rate of metabolism, leading to symptoms such as weight gain, intolerance to cold and tiredness.Levothyroxine tablets are given to replace the thyroxine that would normally be produced naturally by the thyroid gland. This returns levels of T3 and T4 to normal.Once the thyroid gland becomes unable to produce thyroxine, it will generally not return to normal function. This means that once thyroxine replacement is started, it usually needs to be taken for the rest of a personĘs life. The daily dose should preferably be taken before breakfast. What is it used for? Underproduction of thyroid hormones by the thyroid gland (hypothyroidism). Suitable for all Cipla Rotacaps
Ketorolac ophthalmic is used to treat itchy eyes caused by allergies. It also is used to treat swelling and redness (inflammation) that can occur after cataract surgery. Ketorolac ophthalmic is in a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It works by stopping the release of substances that cause allergy symptoms and inflammation.Ketorolac ophthalmic comes as eyedrops. For allergy symptoms, one drop is usually applied to the affected eyes four times a day. For inflammation after cataract surgery, one drop is usually applied to the affected eye four times a day for 2 weeks beginning 24 hours after surgery. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use ketorolac ophthalmic exactly as directed. Do not use more or less of it or use it more than prescribed by your doctor.Your allergy symptom (itchy eyes) should improve when you apply the eyedrops. If your symptoms do not improve or they worsen, call your doctor. For treatment of itchy eyes caused by allergies, continue to use ketorolac ophthalmic until you are no longer exposed to the substance that causes your symptom, allergy season is over, or your doctor tells you to stop using it.To use the eyedrops, follow these instructions: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Use a mirror or have someone else put the drops in your eye. Remove the protective cap. Make sure the end of the dropper is not chipped or cracked. Avoid touching the dropper tip against your eye or anything else. Hold the dropper tip down at all times to prevent drops from flowing back into the bottle and contaminating the remaining contents. Lie down or tilt your head back. Holding the bottle between your thumb and index finger, place the dropper tip as near as possible to your eyelid without touching it. Brace the remaining fingers of that hand against your cheek or nose. With the index finger of your other hand, pull the lower lid of the eye down to form a pocket. Drop the prescribed number of drops into the pocket made by the lower lid and the eye. Placing drops on the surface of the eyeball can cause stinging. Close your eye and press lightly against the lower lid with your finger for 2-3 minutes to keep the medication in the eye. Do not blink. Replace and tighten the cap right away. Do not wipe or rinse it off. Wipe off any excess liquid from your cheek with a clean tissue. Wash your hands again. This medication is used to treat a variety of skin conditions (e.g., eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rash). Betamethasone reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these types of conditions. This medication is a strong corticosteroid. How to use Betamethasone TopUse this medication on the skin only. Felodipine is used for: Treating high blood pressure, alone or with other medications. Felodipine is in a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers. Felodipine relaxes (widens) your blood vessels (veins and arteries), which makes it easier for the heart to pump and reduces its workload.Felodipine is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure).Felodipine is prescribed for the treatment of high blood pressure. It is effective alone or in combination with other high blood pressure medications. A type of medication called a calcium channel blocker, Felodipine eases the workload of the heart by slowing down its muscle contractions and the passage of nerve impulses through it. This improves blood flow through the heart and throughout the body, reduces blood pressure, and helps prevent angina pain (chest pain, often accompanied by a feeling of choking, usually caused by lack of oxygen in the heart due to clogged arteries). Indinavir is used for: Treating HIV along with other medicines. This medicine is not a cure for HIV. Indinavir is an antiviral medication in a group of HIV medicines called protease (PRO-tee-ayz) inhibitors. Indinavir prevents human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cells from multiplying in your body.Indinavir is used to treat HIV, which causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Indinavir is not a cure for HIV or AIDS.Indinavir is used in the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. HIV causes the immune system to break down so that it can no longer fight off other infections. This leads to the fatal disease known as acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS).HIV thrives by taking over the immune system's vital CD4 cells (white blood cells) and using their inner workings to make additional copies of itself. Indinavir belongs to a class of HIV drugs called protease inhibitors, which work by interfering with an important step in the virus's reproductive cycle. Although Indinavir cannot eliminate HIV already present in the body, it can reduce the amount of virus available to infect other cells.Indinavir can be taken alone or in combination with other HIV drugs such as Retrovir. Because Indinavir and Retrovir attack the virus in different ways, the combination is likely to be more effective than either drug alone. |
